About the Property

This charming, thoughtfully renovated home sits in a quiet neighborhood in the West End of Oneonta, just one mile from Cooperstown All Star Village.

Built in the early 1900s, the house has a rich history in the West End, serving as a home to several local families over the years. Today, it’s been lovingly restored and reimagined as a comfortable retreat for visiting guests.

My connection to this home began in 2024, when I came to Oneonta for my son’s summer tournament. Like many parents, I wanted a place that was close to the fields but still cozy and family-friendly. The moment I saw this house, I knew it had the potential to become something special for other baseball families — a space to relax after long days at the ballpark and to make lasting memories together.

Over the past year, I’ve poured care into every detail of the renovation to create a true “home away from home.” You’ll find all the modern amenities you’d expect — fast WiFi, Central Air Conditioning, a fully stocked kitchen, EV charger, and comfortable living spaces — along with baseball-inspired touches throughout. For fun and relaxation, there’s a game room with a ping pong table and cornhole, as well as a full-size washer and dryer for added convenience. Outside, you can enjoy the deck with seating for six, complete with patio chairs and an umbrella — the perfect spot to unwind after a day at the fields.

I hope this home brings you comfort, ease, and a little extra magic during your stay.

About the Area

Often called the “City of the Hills,” Oneonta has deep roots in New York State history. Originally home to the Iroquois people, it welcomed its first European settlers in the late 1700s and officially became a city in 1908. With the arrival of the Delaware & Hudson Railroad, Oneonta quickly grew into a thriving hub of trade, education, and culture. Once one of the Northeast’s major railroad centers, the town still carries echoes of that past in its historic depots, bridges, and strong sense of community.

Nestled in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains, Oneonta is surrounded by rolling hills, rivers, and beautiful natural landscapes. The nearby Susquehanna River offers opportunities for hiking, fishing, and swimming, making the area perfect for outdoor adventure.

Oneonta’s central location also makes it a great base for exploring upstate New York — just 30 minutes from Cooperstown, an hour from Albany, and about 3.5 hours from New York City. With its mix of small-town charm, natural beauty, and a welcoming community, it’s an especially popular summer destination for families traveling here for the iconic youth baseball tournaments.
